Manish Arora is a fashion designer based in New Delhi, India. He graduated with the Best Student Award from the National Institute of Fashion in New Dehli in 1994. His label, the eponymousis Manish Arora, was founded in 1997.
Many refer to Manish Arora as the "john Galliano of India." He is known for blending traditional Indian crafmanship with Western silhouettes.
In 2000, Manish Arora showed at the first Indian Fashion Week. In 2002, he opened his first flagship in New Dehli. This would be followed by a second store a year later.
Since its inception, Manish Arora has been the recipient of many awards and accolades. In 2004, he was awarded the Best Women's Pret Designer at the first Indian Fashion Awards. In 2005, he received the Best Collection Award at Miami Fashion Week. In 2007, Manish Arora Dideir Grumbach invited Manish Arora to show in Paris. That same year he also showed his collection at "Fashion in Motion" at Victoria and Albert Museum.
