British Colour Standard

After Jackie Piper & Victoria Whitbread discovered an old color dictionary in an Oxfam shop, they were inspired to re-establish British Colour Standard, a long forgotten brand and treasure trove of color that was first established 1931.

Out of use since the 1950’s, they acquired & accurately scanned original color dictionaries. Hundreds of original colors created and logged in the 1930’s are used in British Colour Standard's current collections, including candles and candle holders.
