Founded by Chitose Abe in 1999 in Tokyo, Sacai explores hybridization by juxtaposing contrasting textures and reinterpreting garment patterns to create unique, timeless pieces. Abe's collections, though seemingly feminine, focus on innovative and experimental designs inspired by daily life, resulting in versatile items suitable for various occasions. The brand's men's collection, launched in 2009, follows the same philosophy. Sacai opened its flagship store in Tokyo in 2011 and showcases its collections in Paris, featuring interiors designed by GELCHOP.
